Biography

Dr Richard Bright is a biomedical engineer specialising in biomaterials, nanotechnology, and regenerative medicine. His research focuses on engineering advanced implant surfaces that modulate host immune responses, prevent infection, and promote tissue regeneration, with applications in orthopaedic and dental implants. He leads research projects to develop next-generation implant technologies for patients with diabetes and other chronic inflammatory diseases, integrating surface engineering, immunomodulation, and translational bioengineering to improve implant performance and long-term clinical outcomes. His research spans fundamental biomaterials science through to preclinical and clinical translation. Dr. Bright has published extensively in high-impact journals and actively contributes to the scientific community through peer review and editorial activities.
