Authorship represents both academic credit and professional responsibility. Colloquys Publishing requires that all listed authors have made substantial intellectual contributions to the work being submitted.

Authorship should accurately reflect individual contributions and be agreed upon by all contributors before submission.

Authorship Criteria

An author should have contributed significantly to one or more of the following:

  • Study conception and design
  • Data collection
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Methodology development
  • Manuscript preparation
  • Critical intellectual revision
  • Final manuscript approval

All authors should approve the submitted version and agree to be accountable for the work.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author serves as the primary contact throughout the publication process and is responsible for:

  • Managing communication with the journal.
  • Ensuring author consent.
  • Providing accurate author information.
  • Coordinating revisions.
  • Communicating publication decisions.

Author Contribution Statements

Authors may be required to provide a contribution statement describing individual roles in the research and manuscript preparation.

Contribution transparency promotes accountability and fairness.

Changes in Authorship

Requests involving:

  • Addition of authors
  • Removal of authors
  • Author order changes

Must include written agreement from all affected authors and editorial approval.

Changes after acceptance may require additional review.

Unacceptable Authorship Practices

Guest Authorship

Listing individuals who did not contribute significantly.

Gift Authorship

Granting authorship based on position, status, or relationship.

Ghost Authorship

Excluding individuals who made substantial contributions.

Purchased Authorship

Selling or transferring authorship rights.

These practices are considered unethical and may result in editorial action.
