Biography
Mrs. Sheetal Shevkari is a distinguished academician and researcher in Computer Science, currently working as an Assistant Professor at M.I.T. Arts, Commerce & Science College, Alandi, Pune. With more than a decade of experience spanning both academia and industry, she has made remarkable contributions in the areas of teaching, research, curriculum innovation, and student guidance.
She holds a Master of Science (Computer Science) from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and is presently pursuing her Ph.D. in Computer Science at Shri JJT University, Rajasthan. Her academic qualifications also include a B.Ed. (2023, SPPU), an MBA in Human Resource Management (2021, SPPU), and a B.Sc. (Computer Science, 2011, SPPU), highlighting her multidisciplinary knowledge and expertise.
Her professional career began with roles as a Lecturer at M.I.T. Junior College, a PGT/TGT Teacher at Priyadarshani School, and a Technical Trainee at Infosys Ltd., Mysore, before assuming her present faculty position. Over the years, she has taught diverse subjects including Cyber Security, DBMS, Software Engineering, Software Testing, RDBMS, NoSQL, and Advanced Database Technology.
In addition to teaching, Mrs. Shevkari has actively contributed to academic development by designing the syllabus structure for BCS (CDS) under NEP 2020 and authoring a DBMS Lab Book for undergraduate students. She is also known for creating innovative teaching aids and digital learning resources, enriching classroom experiences and improving student engagement.
Her research interests encompass Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Cybersecurity, and Biometrics. She has presented and published several research papers at national and international conferences and journals, particularly on YOLO-based biometric frameworks, AI-driven identification technologies, and the role of AI in human interaction. Her publications appear in reputed journals such as Shodhaditya Research Journal, IJIRT, and IJMDR, and she is a co-inventor of a 2025 patent for a device designed for object detection and classification.
She is also the author of the book “NoSQL Unlock: The Future of Database is Here” and a contributing writer to the edited volume “India @75: Multidisciplinary Reflections on Past, Present & Future.”
Her expertise has earned her appointments as a reviewer for multiple international journals, an examiner and moderator for SPPU examinations, and a jury member for events like the Space Hackathon Apps PCMC 2024. She has also served as a guest lecturer, guiding undergraduate and postgraduate students in preparing for professional opportunities.
Committed to lifelong learning, she has actively taken part in over 25 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and seminars focused on cutting-edge areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Generative AI, and NEP 2020 educational reforms.
